Isabella is Ophelia's shy little South American cousin. Often mistaken for a flying pompom, she tries to keep to herself most of the time. The best way to lure her out of hiding is with very tiny books of poetry and peppermints.

-------

Isabella is actually based off of a real bat that lives in South America. They look like little white fuzzballs and make little tree tents where they live with their buddies. They are also about the actual size I made my plush.

You can take home your own Ophelia: [link]

I agree, they are just too cute. Isabella is made of felt.

I so wish I could work with felt and have it turn out all cute like that. XD

Aww, it just takes practice. I should take some pictures of my earliest attempts so people could see where I started from. Most of them were pretty terrible.

I work with fleece mostly, because it's so easy and it has a bit of stretch so turning things inside out isn't so dangerous. XD I started out with easy-to-sew patterns so the first few things I made were pretty decent. o:

Ah, yeah, I use fleece a lot too for my larger pieces. Most of the smaller things don't have to be turned right side out, so the felt is easier to use. Starting easy is how you build practice.
