Circles and Swirls by jefita Circles and Swirls by jefita
This a bracelet I made out of polymer clay recently. It is strung on elastic cords, and has patterns on both sides making it reversible. It was an experiment, and I really liked how it turned out. I took the time to sand and polish all the beads, so it feels very nice when you slip it on.

I already sold this one, but I'm definitely going to make some more. I need one for myself :)

it looks great!

when you sand polymer clay, do you use very fine sandpaper?

Yes, actually I use a series of them. I start with 400 to get smooth out any flaws, then move on too 600 and 800. I would use more even higher, but I haven't bought any yet. I also use a buffer/polisher after that.

Those are great! I wish I could do something elegant in polymer clay, I always have to be complex when i do pc stuff :D

I go back and forth in phases of the complexity. I've been on a simplicity kick lately. Even so, alot of time goes into sanding and finishing these pieces.

oh god tell me about it, I am just learning to finish polymer well and abouyt 20m goes into each one before I started using a buffer. Mine look nowhere near as refined, finishing is the hardest part I think.

I sand the hell out of mine too, before I buff it. I have to do it a little at a time since it cramps up my fingers.
